11th hour completion! Here are Alex S.' Top 5 problems:

1. Globalization leading to a growing income gap in all parts of the world.

2. Lack of safe drinking water for 1/5 of world population.

3. Prevalence of diseases like AIDS, malaria, and drug-resistant tuberculosis.

4. Severe environmental concerns: most notably global warming, but also ozone depletion and acid rain.

5. Lack of a useful, sustainable energy source (dependance on petroleum)

2. Political and social battles drawing us apart

3. Poverty and lack of support for those in poverty

4. failiure to ratify necessary global pollution ordinance and clean-up laws

5. The threat of nuclear warfare that has the potential to destroy the earth
